Products with proven demand can be done a couple of ways.
1) Look at Clickbank.com   Find a product similar to the one you want to create and look at the gravity.  It represents affiliate
sales over a period of time.  If it is large then you have a winner.
2) Look at amazon best seller lists.  If people are buying books about the subject there is demand.
3) Magazine lists – Direct mail lists of people that subscribe to different magazines

To find your market online you need to look for forums or newsletters that they subscribe to.
For example speakers who sell for profit

Speakers Bureau Search on Google
Professional Speakers forum search
Using the language they use will help you narrow it down.
When you find a search that gives you some good information, click on More on the left hand column.  Find wonder wheel and use it to
dig down into the subject.
